Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your account. Even if someone learns your password, they can't sign in without your second factor.
What is two-factor authentication?
2FA requires you to prove your identity in two ways: first your password (something you know), then a one-time code sent to your phone or generated by an authenticator app (something you have). This makes it significantly harder for attackers to access your account.
How to enable 2FA
- •Go to Settings → Account Security → Two-Factor Authentication.
- •Choose your preferred method: SMS (one-time code sent by text) or Authenticator App (e.g. Google Authenticator).
- •For Authenticator App: scan the QR code shown on screen with your authenticator app.
- •Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app or received by SMS to confirm setup.
- •Save your backup codes in a secure location.
Backup codes
When you enable 2FA, Troverve generates 8 single-use backup codes. Store these in a safe place (printed or in a password manager). If you lose access to your phone, you can sign in using a backup code instead of the 2FA code.
