Enabling two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your account. Even if someone learns your password, they can't sign in without your second factor.

What is two-factor authentication?

2FA requires you to prove your identity in two ways: first your password (something you know), then a one-time code sent to your phone or generated by an authenticator app (something you have). This makes it significantly harder for attackers to access your account.

How to enable 2FA

  1. Go to Settings → Account Security → Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Choose your preferred method: SMS (one-time code sent by text) or Authenticator App (e.g. Google Authenticator).
  3. For Authenticator App: scan the QR code shown on screen with your authenticator app.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code generated by your app or received by SMS to confirm setup.
  5. Save your backup codes in a secure location.

Backup codes

When you enable 2FA, Troverve generates 8 single-use backup codes. Store these in a safe place (printed or in a password manager). If you lose access to your phone, you can sign in using a backup code instead of the 2FA code.

  • check_circleGenerate new codes: If you run low, go to Settings → Two-Factor Authentication → Regenerate Codes.
  • check_circleLost all access?: Contact support with your ID for account recovery assistance.
