Packaging your sold items

Poor packaging is one of the top causes of buyer disputes. A well-packed item protects your seller rating and reduces the risk of damage claims.

Why packaging matters

Once a buyer confirms receipt of a damaged item, Troverve investigates whether the damage occurred during transit or was pre-existing. If packaging is found to be inadequate, the seller is responsible for the refund. Good packaging protects both the item and your earnings.

  • check_circleCardboard boxes: Use a box slightly larger than the item and fill empty space with packing material.
  • check_circleBubble wrap: Wrap fragile items in at least 2 layers of bubble wrap, securing with tape.
  • check_circlePoly mailers: Suitable for soft goods like clothing — lightweight and water-resistant.
  • check_circleKraft paper: Crumpled kraft paper is an eco-friendly void fill for boxes.
  • check_circlePacking tape: Use wide, strong tape and seal all edges. Don't use household scotch tape.

Fragile & high-value items

  1. Double-box items worth over NPR 10,000 — an outer box with an inner cushioned box.
  2. Mark the outer box clearly with 'FRAGILE' on all sides.
  3. Take a photo of the packaged item before sealing — this is your evidence if a damage dispute arises.
  4. For electronics, keep the original manufacturer's box if available.
  5. Consider adding a 'This Side Up' label for liquid items or screen-heavy electronics.
